I need to rant somewhere, and this is just as good a place as any...
Metallica, one of my favorite favorite FAVORITE bands is not only releasing a new album in June but also going on tour this summer!!!! Their Summer Sanitarium 2003 tour features Metallica (duh), Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and I think Mudvayne and Deftones as well. And they have stops in both New York and Philly listed. Tickets go on sale Feb. 22nd. Someone buy me a ticket!!! AHHH!!! Why must my financial situation get even shittier when so many wonderful things are happening?!?! I WANNA GOOOOOOOOO! Heh.. in celebration of this announcement, the four rock radio stations I listen to have been playing Metallica all night long. This rocks. Who wants to come with me? Buy my ticket? I'll pay you back! I swear! Sigh.

[ rant ] GODDAMMIT! Special message to all you assholes who run to the doctor demanding antibiotics everytime you get a GODDAMN COLD... If I read about one more of you fuckers and your quest for antibiotics to treat colds and flus I will kill you all. You're only helping to promote antibiotic resistance, which means that one day we'll all be infected by a superbacteria that cannot be destroyed with any of our antibiotics. VIRUSES cannot be helped by antibiotic medication; ABs treat bacterial infections ONLY. Viral infections must run their course and can only be treated symptomatically. Why might you feel better after taking antibiotics when you have a virus? By the time you reach the point where the medication should be kicking in, the virus is already on its way out of your body. So do the entire fucking human species a favor (and this goes for asshole doctors who prescibe ABs just to shut up their asshole patients): stop requesting antibiotics and treat your freaking symptoms! And next time, try building up your immune system so you reduce the chance of getting sick in the first place. Don't believe me? From the CDC website, and I quote: "Widespread use of antibiotics promotes the spread of antibiotic resistance. While antibiotics should be used to treat bacterial infections, they are not effective against viral infections like the common cold, most sore throats, and the flu." [ /rant ]
